OUR STORY

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Rob Dale founded Bala Chang in 2017. He is a major foodie and life-long product developer with a passion for South East Asian food.
 
The journey started when Rob discovered an old vintage ‘Burma Sauce’ sign from the 1800’s. He went on an explorational trip to Burma and was so inspired by far eastern flavours that he started making Asian sauces.

Burma came to Britain

I became fascinated with the story behind
‘Burma Sauce’ which was first produced
in London back in the 1800s.

BRITISH FELL IN LOVE WITH SPICE…

Made with fruit and spices from the orient, Burma Sauce was probably ‘the first table sauce ever invented’. It was successfully produced for many years right in the 1900’s and so the British love for spicy Asian flavours had begun.
